The commission
A powder-room centrepiece.
This North London commission needed useful concealed storage without making the compact powder room feel crowded. A floating form keeps the floor clear, while the bowed front and vertical fluting soften the cabinetry against the marble-lined room.
Designed for the room

The vanity was made to the room, basin and plumbing rather than adapted from a standard cabinet. Its curved face creates a furniture-like silhouette; fine fluting catches the changing light and the verde marble top gives the painted joinery a natural counterpoint.

The fitted interior uses the available depth around the basin services, while hand-cast brass ginkgo handles introduce a warm, tactile detail against the terracotta paint.
