A wall-mounted media unit with timber-veneered backing, integrated cove lighting, and floating shelves — designed to sit lightly against the wall in a contemporary living space.
The commission
Designed as part of the room.
The brief called for useful media storage without the visual weight of full-height cabinetry. A wall-mounted composition keeps the floor clear, while timber veneer and warm lighting give the contemporary room a softer centre.
In context
Storage with a lighter footprint.
The long floating cabinet conceals equipment and cables beneath the television. Shelves extend across the veneered backing panel, creating display space while preserving the open character of the wall.
In detail
Warm material, precise alignment.
Cove lighting washes the feature wall and emphasises the gap beneath the cabinetry. Carefully controlled lines and junctions allow the timber surfaces, rather than visible hardware, to define the installation.
